Welcome

Father,
Spread wide my soul's walls,
Make room within, and
Fill with the Fresh Air of Your Grace,
With the Power
To welcome Your Will,
Embrace Your Will in all --
The small, the big,
The good, the bad, and the ugly.
Yes, let my soul
Be enfolded with Your Will, for
Your Will is my truth,
A Truth seeding peace --
A Truth-Peace.
Father, Your Power
Drives through all --
Seeds to oaks, streams to oceans, but,
Above all, You weaved and wedded
Human tissue to Your Son, and
Gifted us with Jesus.
I pray this Power be my grace
To live Your Will in all,
For, without grace, my will is feeble.

About the Poet
I am 79 years of age. For the past nine years I have been retired, after forty years, from the field of alcoholism and drug abuse in New York City. I am married and we have two grown sons and two grand-sons. My life changed through a grace-experience in 1967. Writing Christian prayers is a particular interest of mine. This came about by a growing awareness of the spiritual in recovery from addictions. I choose, intellectually and emotionally, to believe the Triune God of the Sared Scriptures as my Healer.
