Dwell
,br />

"Do you not know you are temples of God and the Spirit of God dwells in you."  1 Cor 3:16

Father

My faith's doors swing wide,

Openning to the belief --

You are closer to me

Than my heart's beat,

Than my lungs swell, for

You live within me,

With a patience unbroken.

With You, I will share

My soul-speak, my day-talk, so that,

Under Your Mind's warm sun,

I will meet my truth and great it.

With You, I will share

Gladly my will and find Your Will

Not a weary weight, but

A rich Power light with joy.

With You, I will share

My happenings, my doings,

The cycle of my deeds,

With the call of Jesus --

To do love, to serve love.

Father,

Your Home is within my soul

To sit and bed and range,

Even if I offer You only a stable.

About the Poet
I am 79 years of age. For the past nine years I have been retired, after forty years, from the field of alcoholism and drug abuse in New York City. I am married and we have two grown sons and two grand-sons. My life changed through a grace-experience in 1967. Writing Christian prayers is a particular interest of mine. This came about by a growing awareness of the spiritual in recovery from addictions. I choose, intellectually and emotionally, to believe the Triune God of the Sared Scriptures as my Healer.
