Who are You?

Who are You?

"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes
to the Father except through me." John 14:6

Jesus is the Way.

He is the Walk-Way,
The Path to walk my thoughts
As I avoid hell's hounds
To listen to the mountain echoes
Of His Love, and
Let His conquoring Tongue
Take over my musing.

He is the Trail to walk my feelings
Of the want to touch human suffering,
The tears of my brothers and sisters,
As they walk the Cross-Road with Jesus.

He is the Line to walk my choices on,
No rings around the neck,
No steel bars surrounding,
No, no, always free to choose and
Walk with my Veteran Comrade -- Jesus.

Jesus is the Truth.

He is True-hearted.
No make believe,
No playing as God,
No, He IS God, the Father's Lamp.

He teaches
Without falsehood or fiction,
Rather, with fire clayed brick
To house-build the Kingdom;
His teaching rings with the metal music
Of a call bell --
The call to the Father's Will.

His Tongue
Is without deceit or fraud,
No shady stealth,
No ego-bloat,
But simply, Truth and Heart meeting in Jesus.

Jesus is Life.

He is the fullness of Life,
Yes, He IS Vitality and Energy,
An Ocean of Life.
No, He does not rent life,
He owns life.

He is the Life-Smith
Who hammers my life
On the forge of the Father's Will.
Yes, He is the Love-Rope of grace
I hold my life on.

Father,

You, the Ocean-Tamer,
Give me the breath
To walk the Jesus-Way
Up Your Mountain, and
Not drage my soul's feet
Through the mud of the world and flesh.

Then,
I will stand on the Mountain Top
With You , no longer Sun-less.

About the Poet
I am 79 years of age. For the past nine years I have been retired, after forty years, from the field of alcoholism and drug abuse in New York City. I am married and we have two grown sons and two grand-sons. My life changed through a grace-experience in 1967. Writing Christian prayers is a particular interest of mine. This came about by a growing awareness of the spiritual in recovery from addictions. I choose, intellectually and emotionally, to believe the Triune God of the Sared Scriptures as my Healer.
