Another Place

Father

There is another place,

Yes,

With no frost,

Nor faded forest..

One

When with empty soul-pockets,

A  bog soul,

I walk past joy's fields.

Yes, Father,

There is another place,

A  pilgrim's rest,

A place of all heart,

Where peace has no moss and

Joy finds it's tongue,

Where a mask is not,

Only me as I am.

(oh, so free)

Yes, Father,

There is another place,

Open only to the soul-blind

And will-lame,

That place is You, Father,

Reached only by faith and surrender and

Jesus' gift of grace,

Breahed into my soul by The Spirit.

Yes,

This is Another Place.

About the Poet
I am 79 years of age. For the past nine years I have been retired, after forty years, from the field of alcoholism and drug abuse in New York City. I am married and we have two grown sons and two grand-sons. My life changed through a grace-experience in 1967. Writing Christian prayers is a particular interest of mine. This came about by a growing awareness of the spiritual in recovery from addictions. I choose, intellectually and emotionally, to believe the Triune God of the Sared Scriptures as my Healer.
