Seek

.""One thing I ask of the Lord, this I shall seek -- for me to dwell in the house of  the Lord all the days of  my life and view the beauty of  the Lord, and visit His holy temple." Psalm 27:4

Father,

As the wind is the breaker of trees,

So I beg The Spirit to break through my soul's walls,

And there wipe the winding life-webs,for

They fetter my journey's feet.

Then,

Unleashed,

I will break forth

To seek You, pursue You,

The ONLY Full, and finding,

Savoir.

As Ii voids my soul

Of the acidic and bitter promises

Of the world and the flesh --

Lies souring souls.

Then,

I will taste the Ripe of You, Father --

Jesus, the Christ,

My Hearty  Life-Meal.

And,

Feast at His table,

Joy with His words,

Be enchanted and charmed, but

Always grateful

As I gaze at His Risen Scars.

About the Poet
I am 79 years of age. For the past nine years I have been retired, after forty years, from the field of alcoholism and drug abuse in New York City. I am married and we have two grown sons and two grand-sons. My life changed through a grace-experience in 1967. Writing Christian prayers is a particular interest of mine. This came about by a growing awareness of the spiritual in recovery from addictions. I choose, intellectually and emotionally, to believe the Triune God of the Sared Scriptures as my Healer.
