"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, ...." John14:6 Star-TorchFather, Godward is my soul; Loveward is my heart; Joyward is my life. Why? Jesus, my Star-Torch. He is: My Donor, for He wipes clean, Through His gift of Bleeding Love, My bed of fallen leaves and torn boughs, My sins. My Map, for He leads me From the world of shell words, Moonless, muted, ash-words, To breathing words, fire-words, Always choiring Truth. My Haven, for He holds My unquiet heart In His Harboring Heart, Safe from the pulse of Cain, His brute blood. Father, Through Baptism's water and Spirit, My Bethlehem, Jesus is born in my soul. And, From this manger, I will grow In His Way, His Truth, and His Life, and I will shrink In my way,my truth, and my life. For, He is my Star-Torch, But, only with Your grace. |

About the Poet
I am 79 years of age. For the past nine years I have been retired, after forty years, from the field of alcoholism and drug abuse in New York City.
I am married and we have two grown sons
and two grand-sons.
My life changed through a grace-experience in 1967.
Writing Christian prayers is a particular interest of mine. This came about by a growing awareness of the
spiritual in recovery from addictions.
I choose, intellectually and emotionally, to believe the Triune God of the Sared Scriptures as my Healer.
