Invigorate

Father,

Blend

Into my soul

With Your Son and Spirit, and there

Dye my soul with the yellow gold of grace,

And this I will raise as my flag.

Insinew

My soul with grace -fibers, so

When soul-spent and

Weary of legs and sore of arms,

My journey will still spark with Spirit.

Inspire

My thoughts and words

With trust, the soul of hope, then

Quickened will be my freedom and

With peace I will swim in Your Will.

Father,

Wnen my soul's tongue speaks small,

Defies You and dares You,.

Pierce this puff so that

I will walk with worth,

With the dignity of being Your child,

And walk with You not as a shadow following

But as a Light  leading, invigorating.

About the Poet
I am 79 years of age. For the past nine years I have been retired, after forty years, from the field of alcoholism and drug abuse in New York City. I am married and we have two grown sons and two grand-sons. My life changed through a grace-experience in 1967. Writing Christian prayers is a particular interest of mine. This came about by a growing awareness of the spiritual in recovery from addictions. I choose, intellectually and emotionally, to believe the Triune God of the Sared Scriptures as my Healer.
