At Church, We Talked about the Holy

At Church, We Talked About the Holy Spirit!

At church, we talked about the Holy Spirit.

We talked about how to be guided by it!

We also talked about scripture and Godís power!

And how we need his spiritÖ† This hour!

We talked about how the Holy Spirit moved long ago.

And how we need it now!† To nourish our soul!

It seemed like no matter what we decided

We know the spiritís power has been provided!

I wondered, rather than just talking about it?

Isnít it about time, that we really experience it?

The disciples of the Bible were empowered from on high!

They boldly proclaimed God!† And were not shy!

Itís almost like the church today is somewhat defeated!

Because the Holy Spiritís work isnít completed!

How can anyone experience the Holy Spirit within?

When so many hang on to unrepentant sin???

If youíre one, whoís hanging on to a denominationÖ

Is Godís spirit part of your lifeís foundation???

Wonít you take the time to wait on the spiritís presence!

God is powerful!† And is loving and omnipresent!

Talk is cheap!† Submission to Godís spirit is the key!

To help you in life!† And give you the victory!

Wonít you come now?† And enjoy the spiritís fullness?

It will bring you joy! And complete wholeness!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
