Are You Ashamed To Pray?

Are You Ashamed To Pray?

Many choose a moment of silence instead of prayer.

If they talk to God, why should they care?

It seems to be common at many observations.

Many often neglect man and God conversations.

What will silence accomplish?  What is it’s goal?

To silence the emptiness in an individual’s soul?

Are we worried about who we’ll upset or offend?

Are there any who call God their friend?

When we have situations that need to be taken care of...

Let’s not be ashamed to have a prayer to speak of!

Let’s not be silent, when we have words to say.

Let’s get with God and take time to pray!

May the words we speak ring loud and clear!

God is always listening!  We’ve nothing to fear!

Let’s take the time to have a heavenly reminder.

God is listening and doesn’t need a  “timer.”

His word reminds us that we can always trust him.

Prayer is a way to let us know that we need him!

Please come dear Lord and touch us with your fire!

So that spending time with you, will be our desire!

May we speak to God as our hearts are broken!

May he be honored in what’s said and spoken!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
