Is Ministry Or Family More Importan

Is Ministry Or Family More Important?

There was a ministry, and someone was involved.

In a matter of time, his whole family was “dissolved.”

Spending time with his family seemed obscured.

There were cries from those close to him

that went unheard.

Many people who needed help, to him, they came.

But spending quality time with family seemed in vain.

His son wanted to be with him, but his time was restricted.

His very busy schedule caused him to be LIMITED!

To many around him, he bragged about “his mission.”

He spoke of the many who needed prayer and attention.

At his age, there were still a lot of needs on his mind.

Spending time with his children?

He didn’t have much time.

It seemed his priorities were focused

in a “new” direction.

It was hard for him to give

 his family QUALITY attention.

What profits a man to preach for a whole season

and spend so little time with family,

for no good reason?

I hope that someday he realizes and truly understands…

What it truly means to be a godly father and man.

Let’s do our best to share God’s good news to mankind.

But think about our priorities, while we have the time!

Even in ministry, we can get our focus utterly lost!

We need to think about our goals and count the cost!

Spending quality time with family

 is time well spent.

Perhaps we need to re-focus

and humbly repent!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
