If Not for Jesus, Where Would I Be?

If Not For Jesus, Where Would I Be?

At times, I wondered how I was going to make it.

All of the problems I had…  How would I take it?

It seemed like the pressures of life came crashing down.

I see a lot of fears and anxiety that are all around!

Sometimes I go hide in the closet and let myself cry.

There are times I just wanted to “run away and die!

I have often wondered if anybody really cares.

It just seems like trouble follows me everywhere!

I’d asked; “Can Jesus really love me?”

I had so many problems…  Would he help me?

Just about the time that I asked this question.

I felt a peace and hope that took away my “tension.”

It was if I felt the hand of God reach from above.

And began to fill me with an overflowing love!

I cried and wept like I’ve never done before!

Whatever was happening to me...  I wanted more!

I cried and called for help, in Jesus’ name…

Things in my life have never been the same!

Christ has brought to my life a healing and restoration!

And blessed me with HIS love and gift of salvation!

He removed the things in life that I was holding on to!

And taught me to pray, though I didn’t want to!

I thank Jesus, for the work that he’s done in me!

He’s done all of this, because of his love for me!

I invite you to come and allow Jesus a chance…

He can change you now!  Whatever the circumstance!

Jesus blesses those who earnestly seek him!

Now can be the time for you to receive him!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
