Satisfaction in Jesus...

Jesus Brings Satisfaction

My friend thought after getting married...
His "burning passions" were solved.
his wife had no idea how deeply he was involved.

On their wedding day, she was a beauty to be seen.
She was the twinkle in his eye,
his partner... His everything.

The "satisfaction" he craved, she alone
could not satisfy...
As other women began to catch his wandering eye.

As the weeks went on, he'd make excuses in my mind...
“I'll make up with my wife.” “Not now.”
“Some other time...”

Adultery was something he swore he'd never do...
He promised “to always be faithful,
committed and true.”

One day he allowed “my guard to fall down.”
Then his whole life “came crashing down.”

The guilt he bore was difficult to explain...
He'd feel guilty at the very mention of my wife's name.

One day she found him in a compromising situation...
He tried to give her some kind of an explanation.

She said she'd stay with him ... if he'd
give up his sinful deeds.
“Repent to Jesus,” she said...
“He'll meet all of your needs.”

To Jesus... And her... He confessed and asked for forgiveness...
In Jesus, he found true joy,
love and happiness.

As he looks back and thinks about how he lived.
He's so thankful to Jesus—
willing to forgive.

He alone has brought true satisfaction to his soul...
And is with him... Wherever he may go!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
