I Once Knew A Man...

I Once Knew A Man...

I once knew a man who thought

 "things would get better..."

He had children, and a wife...

 But soon left her.

He met someone who

 "captivated his eyes..."

And fell for her "beauty"

and her "lies..."

His wife loved God and the kids

 with all of her heart.

"How could this happen to me?"

 This question "ripped her apart."

As a family, they went to Church,

and did their "Sunday best."

How could this "happy" family

end up in such a mess???

Temptation can happen to anyone.

 Rich or poor.

Be careful what you allow to

 enter your heart's door.

Regardless of whether you've been

 a "Christian" for 20 years.

One shameful act can create

heartache and tears...

What God has given to you.

  Let no man take away!

Be careful of what others think.

Or what they may say!

Stay true to God.

You'll be thankful you did!

His love and joy will bless

you each day you live!

This saviour is HERE NOW! And

will never leave you alone!

Allow HIM to bring peace and love

to your troubled home!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
