In Lust... Or In Love?
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 4 times

Other Poems by James Pemberton

In Lust... Or In Love?

Do you have a desire to
seek godly purity?
Or do you enjoy watching
 violence and nudity?

Does what you see...
 captivate your eyes.
And yet pretend to be
"spiritual and wise."

Be careful when you "indulge"
a "little here, and there."
Thinking; "no one's watching."
 "No one cares
."

You believe this "thing" cannot
master you.
Yet you know you're doing
things you shouldn't do.

Living day by day, thinking
 "you're in charge."
But this sin inside of you
is growing large.

Nothing should ever replace
 God's love in your house.
Not the love he has given you,
 for your family and spouse.

The things in life which you
 may now "enjoy."
Are actually robbing you
 of a godly joy.

By falling in love with Jesus,
you can once again.
Be set free and find
 total freedom within!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
