Have I Been Giving God My Best?

Have I Been Giving God My Best?

What’ll I do, If I don’t give God my best?

I’ve been “guilty.”  This I will confess!

What’ll I do, when I stand before God’s throne?

Is Jesus the lord of my heart and home?

What’ll I do, for the many sins I’ve committed.

Christ offers his blood to have them all “omitted.”

What’ll I do, for this life I’ve been given?

I’ve had many chances to have my sins forgiven!

What’ll I do, if I reject God’s love and grace?

I’ve tried my best to remain in a “hiding place.”

What’ll I do, when to God I give an account?

As the trials and pressures of life began to mount?

What’ll I say, to a God who loves me and cares?

During my life, I wanted God “out of there!”

What will I say, that day when God calls my name?

For all I’ve done.  Will I bow my head in shame?

This I’ll do!  I’ve made a firm decision!

Living for God…  Is now going to be my daily mission!

This I’m going to say….   I want it to be known!

I’m going to serve my Lord Jesus and him alone!

This I’m going to say…  And I wish you’d do it to!

I’m going to shout out loud;

 “Jesus I sure LOVE YOU!”

This I have done and have made my choice very clear!

My life has totally changed that day Jesus appeared!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
