I Learned to Trust Jesus!
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Other Poems by James Pemberton

I’ve learned to Trust Jesus!

I think about when I was going through hard times.

Many discouraging thoughts entered my mind.

I wasn’t sure what in life was lying ahead.

All I knew is, I wanted my family to be fed.

All of a sudden, life came crashing down.

Without a job, I felt stress all around.

I’d pray many nights and asked God to help me.

Often, I felt his presence there with me.

He told me to simply trust and believe him.

Very soon, I realized how much I’d need him.

I opened up and read his word most every day.

I wanted to apply his word and what he had to say.

During this time there was always food on the table.

God proved his faithfulness! He was more than able!

He showed me how to give, when resources were few.

I learned to trust him, when I didn’t know what to do!

As I look back, I’m blessed to know a God so mighty!

He’ll be there for me, even if I reach the age of 90!

I encourage you to take the time to truly know him!

He desires for you to believe and accept him!

You too can be filled with his strength and power!

This can be the day!

This can be your hour!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
