Let's Not Lose Our Love for Jesus!

Let’s Not Lose Our Love For Jesus!

I know someone who’s quite angry and bitter.

The joy he once had has begun to “wither.”

He grew up in a Christian home quite blessed.

He had a loving family and a place to rest.

He parents loved and taught him God’s ways.

Quite often he’d awake with a heart of praise.

As a young man, he would read God’s word.

A passion for Christ in his heart was stirred!

Then it seemed like his life began falling apart.

He continued on with a sad and broken heart.

His love for Jesus seemed to fall by the side.

As his heart grew with ambition and pride.

He began to doubt God’s plan of salvation.

And questioned his works and creation.

Rather than having the faith as God intended.

Many doubters of God, he soon befriended.

I come across this person now and then.

And remember the day he called Jesus a friend.

God still loves him and waits for his return.

Restoring his life to Jesus is his concern.

God wants for his children to be their first love.

Faithfully serving the God who reigns above!

May the love of Jesus stir in us a deep passion.

To walk in his truth, grace and compassion!

Living for Jesus is the best decision to make.

Let’s make it a daily practice…   For heaven’s sake!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
