Watch Your Eyes!

Watch Your Eyes!

Have you been captured by

the temptations of your eyes?

Things you once held as true and

wholesome… You now despise?

Have you been “captured”

by an outward beauty?

Thereby neglecting your

God-given duty?

Has your soul been consumed with

sin's all-consuming fire?

With an uncontrollable appetite

and an ungodly desire?

In your heart, is the Holy Spirit

an uninvited guest?

No wonder your life is turning

into such a mess!

Your head is filled with fantasies

and temptations of every kind.

You pretend on the outside. But you've

lost control of your mind.

For your failures… You’ve only yourself to blame.

Now's the time to repent!  And call on Jesus' name!

Though your sins be red as scarlet…

they can as white as snow.

Only Jesus can be peace and

satisfaction to your troubled soul.

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
