There's No Greater Love Than to Lay
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 3 times

There’s No Greater Love Than To Lay Down Your LIfe!

There’s no greater love, than to lay down

your life for your brother…

God’s commandment reminds

 us to love one another!

God gave us this challenge as a principle set before us.

But too many times, we let things

 “come in between us.”

I can think of many situations that arise from the past.

Can often cause heartaches, that continue to last.

Is it really worth it?  To allow hard feelings within?

That cause hard feelings between your bother and friend?

It’s about time we try to apply God’s word.

And focus on God’s forgiveness,

that must be heard!

The greatest love ever given, was Christ’ death on the cross.

He laid down his life for us…

Whatever it cost!

Let’s come together and focus on what Christ gave us!

No matter what we’ve done, he already forgave us!

An example of God’s love through us, must be evident.

A Godly compassion in each of us must take residence!

Please come Lord Jesus, and stir a compassion in our soul!

And walk in your love that will make us whole!

There’s no greater opportunity,

than the example Christ has given!

May we walk as his example of love,

each day we’re livin’!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
