Where Is The Holiness In Churches T

Where Is The Fire Of God In Churches?

Many in church are falling, and often no one cares.

Many are falling into temptations evil snares.

Much of this is happening with sexual sins.

In many churches is where this often begins.

When God looks down at churches, what does he see?

Many of his children not being set free.

Many churches are good about having events.

Very seldom do they call for time to truly repent.

The pastor often preaches a sermon to “fill in the lines.”

Too many people go home with perverted minds.

It’s more than raising a hand to receive salvation.

Christ came to set us free and make us a new creation.

When he comes in, he wants the old to be in the past.

He offers an abundant life and a joy that’ll LAST!

Too often, his message of holiness is “tossed aside.”

Many come to church each week, filled with PRIDE.

If they have a “feel good sermon,” that’s all they need.

Meanwhile, the heart of God is broken and bleeds.

His heart bleeds for his children so lost and confused.

It’s like an empty container, “tossed and abused.”

It’s time we get together and truly seek God in prayer.

When we go to church, let’s ask; “why am I really here?”

If we come each Sunday and leave like the day before.

Then all church really is like one “big revolving door.”

But if we’re serious with God, let’s  truly cry out to him.

Let’s seek him as one, and seek victory over sin!

Let’s walk in holiness and a sincere Godly conviction.

Let’s seek God’s holy ways and his plan of redemption.

The time to act is now!  Let’s seek God

in humble sorrow.

Let’s be there for one another.

We may be gone tomorrow!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
