There's That Belly and All It's Glory
by Jean Mollett

There's that belly and all it's glory.
Shortly after getting my puppy, I noticed
the different ways she'ld lay when sleeping.
Sometimes ya shake your head, scratch it or
bust out laughing. Sometimes I wonder about
her. Hee! Hee! I gotta laugh when I see her,
some of the things she'ld do.

There's that belly and all it's glory.
The belly is shining alot, with her paw
folded down and spread out on the floor.
Her head upside down, with her little
front teeth showing like a grin. So cute.
Ya go to pet or rub her, she'll soon flop
over to show her belly. Loves for it to
be rubbed or scratched. Then the little
sewing machine starts, her foot going
90 miles an hour.

There's that belly and all it's glory.
I hear in the back ground, she has no shame.
Showing her belly and everything she's got.
I say, she loves her belly scratched or
rubbed, shows it too. It's normal for them
to do that. She's something else and she
knows it too. Her cute little face stuff,
went out the window, the same week we got
her. It doesn't help her to keep out of
trouble. I learnt her number real quick.
Should have named her TROUBLES, with
capital letters. Because she's always
getting into trouble somehow.

Author's Note: Hee! Hee! Guess that's part of having a puppy. Keeps me really busy too, loving so much.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
