The Littlest Choir
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 2 times

Other Poems by J. Mollett

Each day from morning til night, I
would hear their voices raise. Such
a beautiful sound, coming from the
corner ledge of the ceiling on the
front porch.
The littlest choir.

You didn't have to look, you could
hear when mama or papa was near.
You could always tell when it was
feeding time. The chirping would
start out low and raise up high.
The littlest choir.

I noticed when mama or papa would
land on the ledge, the babies chirp
low. But when one of them hopped up
on the nest, the chirping became
very loud.
The littlest choir.

The babies necks stretched way out,
mouths wide open for food. Such a
beautiful sound. Growing so big,
wings steady, testing them. Their
gone now, left sometime sunday
evening, monday morning. I'm going
to miss them.
The littlest choir.

Note: Last year,
we had three families.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
