Each day we go along, doing our thing,
Going out to work, rushing to get there on time.
Hope that I won't be late for work,
or for everyday events.
Some may have a job, alot do not,
or some may not have to work.
We go about our everyday lives,
complaining about something or someone.
Lots of times, we take people for granted.
Never stopping to give thanks to our Lord,
for everything he's done or given us.
Be thankful for what you have.

So no matter how your day went,
Always take the time to thank the Lord.
Be thankful that you're alive,
able to do what you want to do.
For others may not, due to recent death,
or not able to get up to walk, do what they want.
Be thankful you can, don't complain.
If you see someone who's not able,
Don't make fun of them and stare.
Offer a helping hand, pat on the shoulder,
Or say Hi and give them a smile.
You never know, you may have just made their day,
somesone cares.
Have you seen a sunrise or a sunset?
Be thankful, give thanks to the Lord.
For many hasn't or no longer around to see it.

Always be kind to everyone, don't bite their heads off,
cause you've had a bad day.
'Cause someone who is having it bad,
may have needed a big Hi or smile from you.
Hugs are good for you , maybe a big hug too.
A big hello, smile or a big hug,
doesn't cost anything, It's good medicine.
Just as laughter is the best medicine.
So stop complaining, be thankful for who you are,
not what you are.
Like the families of Sept. 11, 2001,
Stop and think about them.
Lord give the families, the strength
and guidance to continue on with their lives.
Just stop, what you're doing:
Give Thanks To The Lord!!!!
Amen.

Lord, we may forget to give you thanks.
Busy with our everyday lives,
If we do; forgive us, Lord.
Thank you, Lord.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
