Cucumber Sandwiches

by Jean Mollett

Cucumber sandwiches,
my oldest sister had them at the
tupperware party, she hosted for me.
I hadn't even heard of them before,
let alone eating them. They look
delicious, so I tried one, loved it.
I looked at them closely, there was
bread, cut into 4 squares. Spread
Miracle Whip Light, slice of cucumber
(peeled) and slice of red radish.
Oh so good, crunchy, yum.

Cucumber sandwiches,
ever since then I have been making
them myself. It doesn't have to be
white bread, can be wheat, rye.
Whichever you like the best. Make
sure your cucumbers are small to
medium size, firm. Your red radishes
are to be firm, crunchy, not puffy,
soft. They're good for snacks or use
them as a fancy item. Oh so good,
crunchy, yummy.

If ya want it a big sandwich, add
slices of tomatoes with cucumber.
On toast, with Miracle Whip Light on
both slices of toast. Tasty, huh?

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
