What A Pleasant Delight !

What a Pleasant Delight!

What a pleasant delight, it all started Saturday
morning. I had already sliced up a tomato, was
going to fix brunch, but breakfast food.

What a pleasant delight, my husband had gone into
work real early, got off at 10am. He'ld be home
about 11am.

What a pleasant delight, I was about to get the
eggs, fix them, knew it wouldn't take long. My
husband asked me, What are you getting ready to do?
I told him. He suggested going to IHOP, but the time
on the coupons, pass the time. Only 'til 11 a.m., It
was too late.

What a pleasant delight, then we decided on
Shoney's breakfast bar. I thought that sounds
even better, hadn't been there for a good while.
I hurried and got ready, shoes, etc, we left
for Shoney's.

What a pleasant delight, after we arrived, came
into Shoney's, it was crowded. Everyone must have
had the same thought as we did. There were two people
behind the counter, and we saw a team of cheer
leaders.

What a pleasant delight, while waiting to be seated,
there was a couple of people ahead of us. Saw a
lady just paid, she was one of the coaches of the
cheer leaders. Saw about eight little cheer leaders,
just so cute.

What a pleasant delight, I had a feeling that we
were going to hear them cheer, cause they were
lined up side-by-side. Sure enough we got to see
them perform their cheering. Sure wasn't expecting
to see them or hear them doing a cheer.

What a pleasant delight, these girls may be in
grade school, they were just as good as the older
girls, junior high or high school. They may be
little, they sure were mighty with their cheering.

What a pleasant delight, everyone sure enjoyed
them. The name of the Cheer Leaders is the Raiders,
not sure which school. The second thing that happened,
I really enjoyed. Balloons were given out to the
children, I spotted two children down from us.

What a pleasant delight, I glanced up and saw a
little toddler about two years old, a little girl. She
got so excited playing with her balloon, she even
tried to push it to the ceiling. I got tickled at
her, spotted her brother, he looked to be little
over three years. He was playing with his, but his little
sister was having a blast with hers.
What a pleasant delight.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
