Power Tools And Lawn Mowers
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By J. Mollett
Other Poems by J. Mollett

We use them often, to cut the grass.
Trim up around places and things.
How we fill them with oil, gasoline,
Push a button or pull on a rope.
Watch them come alive, with their roar.
How wonderous it is, to do your yard work
In half the time or less, than it used to be.
Oh bless these tools, Lord, that help with
the yard work, may they continue to run.
Thank you Lord, for seeing it done.

Remember the old push mower?
I saw my fair share of them as a child,
'Til the modern one came along.
Once in a great while, you may see one in a
Flea Market somewhere, maybe on an old farm too.
And the sickle, let's not forget that one,
or the old clippers.
Just think, if we didn't have the new power tools
and lawn mowers.
We'd have to go back to the push type,
Sickles and the old clippers.

It brings back old memories for some,
For they haven't forgotten them.
With all the old equipment back then.
It shows how much everything has changed.
Just to make life easier for yard work.
Oh, bless these power tools and lawn mowers, Lord.
To keep them, run them, working freely. Amen.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
