The Finer Things In Life
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Other Poems by J. Mollett

Back when I was a child, I had learnt
some harsh lessons about life. That
having the finer things in life, isn't
what it seems. Being able to buy the
best of everything you've ever wanted
or need. I guess it depends on what
your used to. But that's another
poem to come or an article.
The finer things in Life.

Having everything you ever wanted, just
the best. Nothing but the best. Living in
a big fancy, expensive home. Ritzy fancy
clothes, driving 4 or 5 expenses cars. In
the home with big fancy chandliers with
lights, fancy dancy food, expensive
furniture, antiques, paintings. I've seen
a few fancy places, homes.
The finer things in Life.

Summing it all up, with all that. Are
they really, truly happy? Going to big
parties, golf courses, high priced dinners.
Some rich people are nice, then there are
some that are unreal. If a regular person
was to wear their best clothes, walk into
a big party. They would think and say snobby,
horrible things. Do they really have the
family and friends they want? Do they really
know who their friends are?
The finer things in Life.

I'm not knocking the way they live, I
wouldn't care for that kind of life. Even
if I had the money, I still wouldn't go all
out on homes, etc. Having money to do things
is great, but it's not everything. I sure
wouldn't waste it on alot of silly, or
expensive stuff. Fix up my home some, make
a few changes. It's not big and fancy, but
it's home, comfy. It surely would be put to
use good, not wasted. If I were rich, I'd
probably wouldn't be really wealthy for
very long. I think to myself, boy what all
I could do if I were rich. Then I laugh,
that will be the day.
The finer things in Life.

Aurthor's Note:
When it's all said and done,
with all they have. What is it,
without family and friends?
What about having faith? Nothing!!!
Just an empty shell, with everything
they want. Love and Happiness?? No!!!
The finer things in life.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
