Forgotten people

by Jean Mollett

Forgotton people,
as I walk down the halls,
I wonder just how many.

Forgotton people,
just how many people are
left in this nursing home.

Forgotton people,
most of the patients have
families and they leave them there.

Forgotton people,
just how many has family,
and they won't even come around.

Forgotton people,
two patients there have families
wonder if they're afraid that person
will be a burden to them.

Forgotton people,
it's really a shame that family
members won't even come and visit
their loved ones.

After all they still need our Love.

Author's Note: If a family has to put a loved one in a nursing home the least they can do  is come and be with them and visit.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
