Power Outages

The power went out, not due to a storm this time.
Just rain, a thunder clap sounded a couple of times. Called
a few places, people.

The power went out, not due to a storm this time.
The Pennington Sub-station, power source, went
out. Called to report outage. NES called back to
see if power was back on, push this button for if
the power's back on. Push any button if not, not.
About 1500 without power.

The power went out, not due to a storm this time.
It wouldn't have done any good to have supper cooked
early, wouldn't be able to heat it up. Or even cook
supper now, no power yet. Called Burger King, thank
the Lord, they had power. Because that's what we had
for supper tonight.

The power went out, not due to a storm this time.
It's out, no lights, no Tv for some or all. We sure
do miss having the electric power flowing. had to
off the switch on the air, 'cause it's not good for
it, power coming on and back off several times.
Getting a little warm. Use mother nature's light,
'til it gets dark. Thank the Lord, it's not Winter.

The Lord said, Let there be light. We have power again.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
