It's a Constant, Losing Battle
by Jean Mollett

It's a constant, losing battle.
There's so much about Alzheimer's disease,
one needs to learn . I still am and
at first hand in person too. I know someone
very close to me, that has had experience
with this disease. Members of her friend's
family has had or has it, and she has seen
it very up close. And knows what to expect,
yet one doesn't at times. If someone has
been or going through it now , you'll
soon find out what it's like.
It's a constant, losing battle.

It's a constant, losing battle.
If you are, please read anything and every-
thing about it. Talk with others going through
it too. It affects each person differently.
There's different types of it, slow and fast
acting. It's so mind boggling, to even try
to imagine what it's like. Not trying to scare
anyone, but it can be frightening at times. Any
children around, they will not understand, may
even scare them. Older children may learn and
understand better. Let them learn about it too.
It's a constant losing battle.

Author's Note: For anyone going through this now or about to, I feel for ya. For my family is and has been for sometime. You will need to prepare yourself for this, it's not easy. For there's no cure, only medicine to prolong it's course. So please, learn all you can about it.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
