You're More Trouble Than You're Worth

by Jean Mollett

You're more trouble than you're worth,
those were the words that was spoken to
her that day. She said a few things back
and hasn't mentioned it since. How does one
really respond to something like that? It
tends to rip out your heart, like having a
knife stuck into your heart and it being
twisted to and fro. The pain is so deep.
You're more trouble than you're worth.

You're more trouble than you're worth,
to hear something like that from the love
of their life. To realize maybe I don't
really know him that well at all. Someone
they're married to and questioning why!! A
person may forgive them, but they never
forget. How does one measure selfworth??
What have I done to deserve this?? Not
knowing how she's really doing now,
it bothers me so. She deserves better
than this. I'm praying for her.
You're more trouble than you're worth.

You're more trouble than you're  worth, that
still stings with me, I can hear it today.
When I look into her eyes, they're not as
bright and firey with so much passion anymore.
It's like leaving a candle burning down to the
bottom of the wick. Wax spreading out everywhere,
in her heart, mind and soul. I see her hurting,
feel her pain. I've seen the tears flowing
down her cheeks. Makes me want to cry. She
won't speak about it, cause the tears start
pouring out again. What's one to do??
You're more trouble than you're worth.

Author's Note: Hoping and praying that she'll recieve interpeace again. I realize this might not be much of a poem. Please be kind and gentle, cause it is full of pain.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
