As I Look into Her Eyes

As I Look into Her Eyes

As I look into her eyes,
it's like the flicker of life has
left her. No twinkle in her eyes
when she sees us or the grandkids.
Hoping to see her face light up and a
warm glow. Now, we bearly see a smile
or hardly hear a laugh. Missing it so.

As I look into her eyes,
now it's nothing but emptiness. Waiting
and knowing what's coming next. Her body
soon to be an empty shell sitting on the
sand. Hoping and praying to help ease her
pain. At times it hurts so much, trying
to hold back tears. They just pour.

As I look into her eyes,
Longing to hear that precious sound
of laughter and even a big smile. It
very seldom happens anymore. Never to
be herself again forever, is gradually
leaving us as times passes by. How can I
face this, letting you go? I reach out to
pray for strenght and guidance from our
precious, precious Lord. His Love.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
