Grieving for Our Pets

Grieving For Our Pets

by Jean Mollett

Grieving for our pets,
it's not easy losing a pet.
Because they become a part of
the family, a part of you. Yes,
they are animals, but ya still
feel the loss, pain, longing to
hold them. Or maybe see some silly
little things they used to do.
No matter your pet may be.

Grieving for our pets,
some may feel it or take it harder
than others. Cause their like a
child to them, a partner, companion.
A pet helps us many ways, we don't
even realize it. They help our health,
help keep stress down, blood pressures
down. And make us ever so happy, loving.
Recieving back so much love from them
in their own ways. So, so sweet.

Grieving for our pets,
there are things said, oh they're just
an animal. If ya have ever had a pet,
you'll surely understand what I'm saying.
Don't ever take them for granted, like
we do each other. I've heard remarks
animals are just plain dumb, they're not.
They're  alot smarter than given credit to
them. Yes, there are some that really
get carried away, but they are loved.
Each person has their own way of
showing love for their pets. Just
remember, your pet does too. In
their own special way.

Author's Note: I wrote this because Friday evening my pet bird, Sparky,  passed away. In loving Memory of Sparky. I miss ya so much. Love & Miss ya.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
