Valentine's Day Isn't the Same Anymore
by Jean Mollett

Valentine's Day  isn't the same anymore.
Not when there's a man who's not the
same anymore. Things are never what they
were before, many years that were good
are gone. Left wondering if it's all worth
the trouble, time, heartaches, misery.
Valentine's Day isn't the same anymore.

Valentine's Day isn't the same anymore.
Should I or shouldn't, one wonders what
to do. Too stubborn to really give up, but
not so sure it's really worth it anymore.
Seeing the bright red pretty hearts, thinking
what our lives used to be like. Pretty cards
and flowers, used to be there, not much of
anything  anymore. Could really care less
about the special day coming up, to share
being together. One can remember what it
use to be. Then reality hits, knowing that
someone else has lost their love. Yours is
not that bad afterall. They are really alone.
Valentines' Day  isn't the same anymore.

Author's Note: Some friends or family have lost their loves. It's not so easy for them. Remember to give them your love today as well.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
