Earth Mourns and Heaven Rejoices

by Jean Mollett

Earth mourns and Heaven rejoices,
when a loved one passes away,
we here on earth mourn for them.

Heaven opens the golden gates to enter,
waiting for that person to come walking
out of the clouds, in the light.

Waiting in lines on both sides to greet
them, as they come into the bright light.
Such beauty, knowing Good has won over Evil.

Earth mourns and Heaven rejoices,
with our hearts aching and breaking,
that our loved ones are going to Heaven.

Author's Note: With a lost of a loved one or friend, it isn't easy to let go. Be sure to make peace with them, before anything happens. To hear these words from their mouth, I'm ready to go home to Jesus. Just let me die." It's so heartbreaking. And to let them know, "It's okay to let go," It's not easy to do. Been there. Cause one tends to hang on because of the love of their life and family.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
