Eat your vegetables
by Jean Mollett

Don't have to tell her twice,
eat your vegetables. I'll say,
ya wanta carrot or a green bean,
whichever it may be. Watch out!!

She'll come running licky split into
the kitchen, as fast as she can.
Watching every move Mommy makes,
wiggling and squirming, tail wagging.

So excited, she can hardly wait for it.
Sitting there, waiting so patiently,
looking at me, like hurry Mommy hurry.
She'll even sit up and beg for it.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
