Standing At The Door

Standing at the door,
Watching mother nature at her best.
I can stand back a little ways from the door,
and look out the top part of the window. To
be able to watch little Mama on her nest,
taking care of her precious little eggs. She
has a bigger place to have her home now.

Standing at the door,
How often do you get to see a bird, on a nest
so close to you? It won't be long, little Mama
will have her little ones to feed. I believe
little Mama is a small Tree Sparrow, she's
brown with a red head. And red on her chest.
Papa is brown, with a whiteish chest and brown
stripes, on his head, chest. She sits on her
nest, chirping and singing so beautiful. Soon
we'll have a choir singing.

Note: Papa comes and goes so fast.
I finally got his colors right. I think
they are the Tree Sparrows. There's over 90
diferent kinds of sparrows, including 3 others
in the family. Sparrows can adapt to anywhere.
Check out your bird books. These
little birds are fast.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
