Survivors Left Behind

Survivors Left Behind

Survivors left behind,

grieving for their loss of a loved one.

Emotions turning and twisting.

Survivors left behind,

wondering what comes next.

Drying away many tears.

Survivors left behind,

knowing that someday,

they will be reunited.

Author's Notes:

I heard a comment once a long time ago.

Instead of all the sadness at the funeral.

One should celebrate their lives,

should have a party instead.

I'm not so sure about that.

But, in some ways, it makes some sense.

A toast in their honor and have chats

about them. What that person meant to them.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
