Christmas Upon Us, Oh My!!

by Jean Mollett

Christma upon us, oh my!!
I love Christmas time. But!!
This year it doesn't seem like
it should be Christmas already.
Christmas was not long ago, came
and gone again. Next thing I knew
the months rolled by. March, then
July, I mention it's 5 months til
Christmas. I heard I don't want
to hear that from my hubby.

Christmas upon us, oh my!!
Used to do all my shopping early
in the year and all done. Have my
cards fixed and in the mail. Get
decorations down and set out to
hang up. This year it has arrived
alot sooner, scrambling around to
get it all done. Couldn't get it
in gear to make it all happen.
Oh woe is me. What must I do??

Christmas upon us, oh my!!
Don't know why, couldn't get it
together into the Christmas mood.
After seeing the lights, trees,
hearing songs and Christmas plays.
Help alot. Finally got it together
and got on the ball, the cards are
done and in the mail. Got most of
the decorations done at home, just
a little more to go. The Grinch
lives here, the hubby.

Christmas upon us, oh my!!
Oh no, the Christmas shopping
and it needs to be done. Got
little done, but not finished.
Got to get busy, busy, busy. Oh
no, here we go again. Oh well,
it could be worse. Boy,
Santa has it easy.

Author's Note: With all the hustle and bustle of it all. Remember always be kind and nice to each other. This most important thing is to remember: This is Jesus's birthday, praise him. It's a rough draft, me thinks it may need more work on it.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
