Selfishness
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By J. Mollett
Other Poems by J. Mollett

Selfishness is floating around, just as bad
as greed, hatefulness. Neither of them are good.
Yet you wonder why they're like that.
Selfishness is not showing respect for someone
else's feelings, sharing. They only think what
and how can I gain from this. Some it may affect
them if you say anything, but some not. I have
met a few like that in the past.

Selfishness, I got a taste of it today. From
someone close to me. I didn't like what I saw.
It was a waste of time to say anything, 'cause
it didn't phase this person at all.
Selfishness, it wasn't a pleasant feeling. I
ask the Lord to forgive him, for he knows not
what he's doing. But yet, he does.
Selfishness. How can people be that way? I
couldn't be that way. If I ever have Lord,
forgive me, it wasn't meant to be.

Selfishness, you should ask the Lord for his
forgiveness. Teach you to be a better person.
To lead you in the right direction.
Selfishness, to become aware of your actions,
to regain thoughtfulness for others. To show
your regard for others, considerate.
Selfishness, you need to learn how to respect
others' feelings. Lord, show them the right
direction, without being so selfish.
Thank You, Lord.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
