October Time

October Time,

by Jean Mollett

October time,
has been here for awhile,
started out still a little bit warm.
Now as the month has rolled by with time,
it's starting to get cooler now.

October time,
you can feel the coolness in the air,
one can almost taste it in their mouth.
Not long it will have a crispness to the air,
soon to feel it nipping on the skin.

October time,
less than a week away, Halloween will be here.
November will start knocking at the door,
the air will be turning even cooler. The warm air
has decided it's time to go, let the cool air take over.

October time,
shortly after Halloween, then comes the holidays.
Daylight savings time won't be til Nov. the 4th this year.
Need to re-set our clocks again, back one hour, not to be late.
Thanksgiving will be here soon, then Decemeber.

Author's Note: With Thanksgiving coming and then Christmas, for some it won't be the same anymore.  Remember the seasons, what they're really for. Specially Christmas. Jesus's birthday.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
