There's Nothing Like Old Sayings

by Jean Mollett

There's nothing like, Old Sayings:

you can catch more flies with honey,
than with vinegar.

it'll make ya smack your granny down,
cause it taste so good.

turn that frown, downside up.

don't take any wooden nickels.

knee high from a grasshopper.

I've known him since he was a twinkle
in his daddy's eye.

There's nothing like, Old Sayings.

There's nothing like old sayings,
okay here we go with more of them.
Come on now, don't be so shy.
If ya have any, let me know.
There's nothing like old sayings.

Hold your horses,

or just hold your horses,

here now, hold your horses.

well, just blow me down.

well, I'll be a monkey's uncle.

ain't no way Josha.

watcha doin?

Man alive.

Author's Note: Anyone care to join in? Got old sayings? This one is not just by me, it's by others as well.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
