A Star and Quarter Moon

A Star and Quarter Moon

As we left home to run some errands,
it was already getting a little past sunset.
It was a little dark, enough you already had
to have your headlights on. It was dark by the
time we got just about to our first stop. My
husband was driving, I glanced out the car window,
I saw a quarter moon. Over to the lower left was
this one star, it was a pretty sight.

Just before we got to where the stores were,
the area was dark. As we were coming closer,
you could see the lights from the town. It was
all lit up, kinda reminded you of Christmas
lights glowing. So many different colors, types,
sizes. It's so pretty. Cars buzzing by, people
going here or there. But yet, it seemed kinda
calm, relaxing, not alot of noise.

Too many lights in the area, to see anymore stars.
Once we headed back, I saw the star and quarter,
sitting so pretty in a dark sky. A couple of quick
glances toward the sky, the other stars must have
been elsewhere. The star lower left from the quarter
moon, was bright. They seem closer tonight, you
wanted to reach out and touch them.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
