Give Him Strength Lord

Give Him Strength Lord

Give him strength Lord,
for he's happy no more.
He had a little daughter,
she was stolen in the early morning hours.
Horrified, when discovered she was gone,
Little did anyone know, She would never be seen again.
Found the front door open, no one in sight.
Franticaly searching for his daughter,
no where to be found.
Checking everywhere, called the police.
Officer my little daughter is missing,
Police and others were searching for evidence.
His daughter nowhere to be found, shortly
After a day or two, the worst had come.

Early one morning a man was going to work,
Discovered something horrible.
He found a little girl's body all crumbled up.
Lying there, no movement; he sensed
Something was very wrong here, he knew she was dead.
The Police and everyone working with the case,
Were called out.
Shortly, the police came to his home,
And told him about finding a little girl.
He was asked to come and to identify her body.
The terrible words the policeman spoke,
It turned out to be his little daughter.
The only child they had, wasn't even two yet.
I pray Lord, Give him strength.

He used to go to church, and believed in the Lord,
'Til this happened to his daughter.
So full of hate, revenge,
wanting to get at the person,
That kidnapped his daughter.
Then atacked her, then he murdered her,
Wanting justice done soon as possible.
It took over eight months to capture the Killer,
Special DNA Test proved who did it.
Went thru the trial, finally seeing her killer,
The pain for him was so unbearable, hurting so.
His wife acted very strangely, not showing
much emotions at all.
So many unanswered questions.

Over eight years or more have passed,
he's still hurting, Lord.
He has another daughter,
that looks just like his first one.
I've talked to him, trying to help,
be there for him as I could.
For I do not know what or how to help,
I pray for him, put him on the prayer list.
He hasn't returned to church yet, has gotten
help over the years, still hasn't helped.
He told me no one knows how he feels,
Unless it happens to them, that's true.

Lord his heart is still heavy, birthdays,
Holidays are very hard when they come.
He said I'll never forgive the person that
Killed my daughter. Guide him Lord.
Give him strength for he needs you even more now.
I pray Lord, he'll Reach out to you again.
I haven't heard from him for a long time,
I will contact him soon.
Lord, I can only help so much,
It's in your hands now, Lord.
Help him to be happy again, Lord.
Give him strength Lord, Thank you Lord.

I just had to write this,
I hope it helps others.

About the Poet
I'm married. I am a grandmother. I love poetry, reading and writing it. Someone inspired me to start writing poetry again. That person is my Pastor.
