Hey, Now I like Spinach

by Jean Mollett

Hey, now I like Spinach.
Before I only tried it in salads
or eggs in it. It's delicious. It's
best to use the fresh or frozen, it's
not slimy either. Oh yes, I had it in
veg Laz too. Cause, I never could stand
the thought of eating Spinach in any
shape or form.

Hey, now I like Spinach.
I had some frozen spinach, so I fixed
it like I do my regular greens. I love
turnip greens, mustard greens, ha never
could figure out why their called that.
Cause, they sure don't taste like mustard.
Hee! Hee! Their good too, there's kale
greens. Years ago I ran across one called
Rape greens, I thought never heard of it.
There really is one called that, I saw
the package. I thought it should have
been named something else than that.
All of them are good, ya can mixed a
couple of them together, too.

Hey, now I like Spinach.
I cooked the Spinach, it looked good,
smelled good and it tastes good too.
I put a little of white vinegar on mine,
can't eat without it. Oh that gives it a
good taste. I'll use the can greens of
the others, but it's best fresh or frozen.
It tells ya on the package how to cook it.
I cook mine a little longer til tender,
let it cook down like green beans. Til
it's almost gone, very little, but not dry.

Hey, now I like Spinach.
While it's cooking, I put a little of my
I Can't Believe It Butter Light, little of
garlic powder. Mrs Dash Orignal seasoning,
if out put little pepper instead. You can
put bacon, ham in it or use turnips or
potatoes. If ya can't have the meat, then
put real bacon bits in it. I've tried it
with before, very good. If greens are fresh,
the water turns green, rinse off, use fresh
water again. To help keep it from being
bitter and the sugar helps too. 1 Tablespoon,
not heaping, level or a little less. I haven't
tried Splenda in it, ya may use it instead,
if sugar is not allowed. And it with your
other vegs and meat, enjoy.

Author's Note: Okay, I guess I got a little too excited about it. I went to rambling again.
