This poem is dedicated to a man I'll call Daniel
Thank you so much for sharing and for being such

an inspiration to me!

God Ran and Caught the Man

by: Nan Forehand

as I drove my car I had a vision

focused on my driving so there’d be no collision

earlier a spiritual conversation took place

right in my own office space

a gentleman spoke of the past

knowing current troubles won’t last

he knows God is ultimately in control

and satan can’t have his soul

between God and me there is no division

now I’ll share with you my vision

satan with belly on the ground

grabs the foot of the man without making a sound

spinning a convincing canard

tugging and pulling to catch the man off guard

losing his balance and straining forward

with arms outstretched, he begins to fall downward

"Please, God! Catch me before I fall!”

He listened and heard the man call

that’s when God ran

He caught in His arms that desperate man

as the Lord held him in a loving embrace

satan slithered away without a trace

God’s love and compassion outpoured

now the man is up right and fully restored

with you this vision I must share

of the day God ran and caught the man in mid air

God held the man close to His chest

I’ll let you envision the rest

Author’s Note: canard ( ) n. An unfounded or false, deliberately misleading story

Jeremiah 29:11-14
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, “declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity….”

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
