The Little Girl Within
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

The Little Girl Within

this time of year it gets hot as Hades

don't mind me guys

this time I want to talk to the ladies

honor the little girl within

now's the time to go back in time

to do so is not a sin

revisit the little girl of your youth

you'll be glad you did

believe me now - I'm tellin' the truth

maybe it  was baking cookies with Mom in the kitchen

or what ever memories bring a smile to your face

I'm sure there are too many to mention

take time now, before it's too late

share your memories with young girls today

you don't know what will eventually be your fate

remember those times,  honey

you and your pals at play

somebody said or did something "bust a gut" funny

those times you laughed 'til you cried

I hope I've stirred up pleasant memories

if I haven't, at least I've tried

Ecclesiastes 3:4

....a time to weep and a time to laugh.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
