This Prayer Sincere

I pray for you this prayer sincere
trust in God; He is always near
so many years you've consumed the booze
on again - off again; you win - you lose
I know a little about your struggle
the Bible and the bottle you juggle
you know liquor kills and you want to stop
if you don't go through detox., very soon you'll drop
though your body is weak, your spirit is strong
when you give up the sauce, you can't go wrong
you live in a constant state of prostration
to be cleansed in spirit and body - such elation!!
choose to live under the influence of The Spirit
instead of the influence of the spirits
Lord, I pray for this precious soul
to be safe in Your arms before alcohol takes it's toll
clearly, Your love is heaven sent
and yes, this one wants to repent
Lord, God Almighty, Your presence is near
and I know you hear this prayer sincere
In Your Holy Name I pray and Your Will be done - Amen

Ephesians 5:15-18
Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise, but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the LORD's will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

Jeremiah 29:11:14
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," delcares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity."

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
