Tribute to Julia

praise the Lord and halleluiah
thanks for our dear friend Julia
special to us all - faithful and true
always there for me and you
whether serving food or on a committee
her contribution is great - not itty bitty
she's loved her church family over 30 years
held our hands through laughter, love and tears
sweet as can be and sharp as a tack
zest and zeal she does not lack
cooking meals, crocheting afghans, singing alto
someone is sick - to the hospital she will go
visits may be a few minutes or sometimes - several hours
her pleasure to send cards and flowers
coordinating with the school nurse-names for the Angel Tree
collecting food and coats for Fifth Street Ministry
she's the real deal - I wouldn't fool ya
thank you God for my mother-in-law Julia

Proverbs 31:25-28
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
