In Memory Of Sis

Barbara Ann Brown Williams
September 22, 1945 - October 15, 2014

Tall, blonde hair, blue eyes
She was Mama's first prize

Sis was the oldest of us all
She was born on the eve of the first day of Fall

Barbara Ann, Rebecca Lee
Lois Gwendolyn, Joyce Faye
Mickey Thomas and me

To sum up her life of 69 years
Lots of love, laughter and sometimes tears

She thought her beads, bangles and baubles were nifty
She enjoyed going to yard sales and being thrifty

In God was her faith and her trust
Through the storms of life the winds would gust

Though the winds may blow her around
Sis always held her ground

She wasn't perfect; no, none of us are
Loved and forgiven; she is a bright, shining star

Heaven gained an angel the night she passed
She is rejoicing in Heaven and having a blast

Sis is now with loved ones who have gone on before
We will hold her close in our hearts for evermore

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
